They improve student performance by providing a visual learning resource, enabling students to explore and process the resource and knowledge at their own pace. Videos deliver an engaging and powerful tool to help students feel more connected to the course. They provide the basis for creative and instructional based learning. Videos offer an excellent tool to demonstrate ‘how-to’ and ‘how-not-to’ effectively.

Videos have been proven to increase student engagement, which in turn helps boost student achievement. If students are interested in the content covered in the video, they will better process the knowledge shared and therefore better retain the knowledge. Further, they offer students the flexibility to either pause, skip or re-watch a particular video should the student not have grasped a particular concept within a video.
