Design your Course for Longevity
25 April 2020
When designing your course, the most important thing to remember is the end result, in terms of the particular knowledge and skills that need to be learnt.
To start your course creation process, you must first list all the skills and knowledge that need to be taught, from the most basic to the most advanced. This will become your course outline, as one skill serves as the stepping stone to the next skill. Remember to include the ongoing assessments and tasks into your planning as these maintain student’s motivation throughout the course.
To ensure the longevity of your course try and avoid references to specific dates. Keep these references more generic to ensure that your course does not age and will also be applicable to multiple countries, depending on your content.
Next, you need to create your learning videos based on your planned course outline, paying particular attention to the video lengths. How do you do this? Keep an eye out for our next set of online course tips.
