Encourage Your Students
9 April 2020
Your course should build your student’s confidence in his/her new skill or knowledge. To do this, you must design your course, formative assessments and practical tasks to promote feelings of accomplishment. Even if your early practical tasks are slightly easier, building up to being more challenging, the focus must be on skills learnt and maintaining excitement for these new skills.
If possible, build opportunities to give feedback to students into your course. This will go a long way to keeping your students engaged and reduce the feelings of isolation that can result from online learning.
When marketing your course, it is important to ensure that your students go into your course with realistic expectations of what they will learn. How do you do this? Keep an eye out for our next set of online course tips.
