The minimum testing age in South Africa and Namibia is 17 years old. A student can register a GED profile on ged.com from the age of 16 years. Any student who has a GED profile under the age of 18 years will need to complete and return a parental consent form. This is standard GED policy.

*SAQA (the South African Qualifications Authority) has evaluated the GED® and found the National Senior Certificate as its closest comparable qualification.
